- Who We Serve
Children's Medical Services (CMS) serves underinsured children in Florida with special health needs. They are part of Florida's Healthy Kids umbrella of programs.
Ped-I-Care is a managed care network that works with CMS to serve children who live in a 16 county area in North-Central Florida. On July 1, 2006, we are expanding to cover an additional seven counties in Northeast Florida. This 23 county area runs roughly from Jacksonville and Daytona Beach in the East to Crystal River and Cedar Key in the West.
Ped-I-Care's network of providers specializes in children's healthcare for children with special needs. In fact, we only serve children from age 1 through 18 with special healthcare needs. Each of our members have qualified for the Healthy Kids program and have been accepted by CMS due to a special health care need. CMS is able to provide the care coordination through their Nurse Care Coordinators to make sure these children receive the unique care they need.
